Polaroids
This exhibition emerged from a hypothesis: could my large and disparate body of work with Polaroids, accumulated over seven years, coalesce into a unified statement if properly organized and sequenced? Working with Polaroids, has always been a struggle: cameras break, the film is highly sensitive to temperature and has limited dynamic range, leading to results that are often unexpected or imperfect.  Through this process, a theme revealed itself: the fragile and transient nature of the medium. My Polaroids focus on surfaces—bare, flat,  skin—emphasizing the impermanence and unpredictability of these technical objects. Their irritability make them feel alive, echoing the temperamental nature of living beings.

This series was presented as part of Sur Peaux et Boyaux, a joint exhibition with Hana Beth Cruz.
